World’s Largest Projection Mapping Snags Guinness World Record
The Tokyo metropolitan government headquarters now hosts the world’s largest projection mapping display, a distinction confirmed by Guinness World Records.
Since February 25, the nightly spectacle illuminates one of the two towers of the headquarters, starting at 7 p.m. and recurring every half hour. Each show lasts between 10 to 15 minutes, with special displays reserved for weekends and public holidays.
This record-setting projection spans the headquarters' 48-storey main building's eastern facade. It covers an impressive area from the fourth to the 32nd floors, measuring approximately 127 metres in height and 110 metres in width, totalling 14,000 square metres.
